Olesja Katšanovskaja, kunstnikunimega Solaye Nova on Eesti kunstnik, keda on mõjutanud nii Euroopa kui Venemaa koolkonnad. Ta on lõpetanud Tartu Ülikooli maalikunsti eriala ja kaitsnud magistrikraadi Eesti Kunstiakadeemias kunstipedagoogika alal. Tema cum laude vääriline magistritöö projekt Kumus hõlmas kunstihariduse toomist põhikooli ainekavasse ning ta on ka ise õpetajana töötanud.

Olesja on oma tööde kohta öelnud, et soovib neid luua nii, et need oleks ka enda silmale ilusad vaadata, samas jäädvustades antud aegruumi unikaalsust ja intiimsust. Tema maale iseloomustab värvitoonide ja teemade soojus ning loodusest inspireeritud fantaasiaküllasus.

Olesya Kachanovskaya, also known artistically as “Solaye Nova”, is an Estonian artist who has been influenced both by the Estonian and Russian school. She graduated in painting from the University of Tartu and successfully defended her Master’s Degree with honours in Art Pedagogy at the Estonian Academy of Arts. Her Master’s project at the Art Museum of Estonia identified new steps in blossoming art education in the curriculum of primary education. Quite naturally, she has also worked as a teacher.

When speaking about her work, Olesya wishes to create art that is beautiful to look at, and in addition, captures the uniqueness and intimacy of the current space and time. Her paintings can be characterized by their warm colours and topics, consequently involving a richness in fantasy that has been inspired by her love for nature.
